The Midwest Queens program is an opportunity to participate in the Minneapolis Aquatennial as a community ambassador.  This program is a non-competitive version of the Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program.
 

About the Midwest Queens Program 2011
The Midwest Queen's Program was established for two reasons, First, for those communities that have elected not to participate in the Queen of the Lakes candidate program, the Midwest Queen's Program offers a chance for a young woman from the community to experience the Aquatennial. Second, the Midwest Queen's program is often utilized by communities who would like to provide their queen with an introduction to the Aquatennial before actually participating in the Queen of the Lakes program as a candidate. The program is open to any festival or organization in the Midwest or five-state area that would be interested in sending their queen to Aquatennial.

The program offers many exciting experiences, many of which are once-in-a-lifetime activities! Attending receptions, participating in a variety of Aquatennial events and activities and even interacting with the visiting Dignitaries from out of State, are some of the things the women may experience throughout the Midwest Queen's program. As with the Queen of the Lakes Program, the Midwest Queen's are chaperoned from the time they check-in to the hotel, to the time they check-out. In addition, each woman is expected to follow the program and all its rules and regulations that have been set up by the Midwest Queen's Committee in the entirety.
