AAO NEWS

July 8 - The AAO is looking forward to Sparkle Night at Target Field on Tuesday, July 20th!  Please meet at the atrium at the City Center in downtown Minneapolis (40 S. 7th Street) at 5pm.  Parking is available through out downtown.  Please note that parking will NOT be available at the City Center parking ramp so please plan extra time to find parking.  We will depart promptly at 5:30 pm.  Only royalty/ambassadors and 1-2 chaperones are able to participate in the pre-game parade on the field.  All other guests should proceed directly to your seats in the stadium.  Attached is the map of Target Field.  Please note that the "parade" participants will enter at the North Pedestrian Ramp at Section 129/130.

July 2 - Please note that Coronation Tickets will ONLY be available by phone from July 6-9.  The U of M Arts Ticket Office is changing servers during this time.  Please call 612-624-2345 for tickets.  Starting July 10th, tickets can be ordered online and group tickets (10+) are only available by phone.

July 1 - ALERT TO CANDIDATES AND EVENT GUESTS!  Please note that Twins will be playing at Target Field on Sunday, July 18 at 12:10pm (Candidate Check-In & Welcome Reception) and Wednesday, July 21 at 12:10pm (Meet the Candidates) and parking will NOT be available in the adjoining City Center Ramp.  Parking is available at the Gaviidae Commons Ramps (entrance on 6th St. and on 5th St., note: this is a VALET ramp) as well as the ramp adjoining Macy's (entrance on 7th St.) and the ramp adjoining Murray's Restaurant (entrance on 6th St.).  Traffic on 7th Street will be busy.  Please plan extra time to find parking.

June 29 - Thank you to those of you who ordered tickets for Sparkle Night.  Tickets for the event are sold out.  The Twins have a limited number of standing room only seats.  If you would like to order those tickets, please contact the main box office at 1-800-33-TWINS or www.twinsbaseball.com.

June 3 - The Marriott City Center in partnership with the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization would like to extend a special room rate for the families, friends and ambassador program coordinators to stay at the hotel during festival week.  The rate Sunday, July 18-Thursday, July 22 is $149/night and the rate on Friday, July 23-Saturday, July 24 is $119/night.  To make your reservations, please call 612-349-4000 and ask for the Aquatennial rate!
 
June 2 - Party on the Pier (pre-coronation reception) and Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program Coronation are now on sale!  Scroll down to July 23rd for more information.  Also, if you would like to order a DVD of the Coronation, please complete the form below.
 
May 23 - PLEASE NOTE!  The AAO was just informed by the fax number and phone number were transposed on the order form for the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization's Sparkle Night at Target Field.  The forms below reflect the correct phone and fax numbers.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.  As a friendly reminder, tickets can be ordered until June 29th.  The number of available tickets are limited so order today!
 
May 18 - Tickets for the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization's Sparkle Night at Target Field are now available!  Scroll down to Events section for the order form!  Please note that if you are a candidate in the 2010 Queen of the Lakes Scholarship Program, you will be attending the event as part of your candidacy and your ticket has already been ordered.  The deadline to purchase tickets is June 29th.  We have a limited number of tickets so order soon!  We hope to see you on Tuesday, July 20th!

April 17 - The Aquatennial Ambassador Organization Community Outreach Strategic Planning Event has been rescheduled to May 8th. More details will be posted soon.
 
March 31, 2010 - If you are a community royalty/ambassador program coordinator, you have been invited to join the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization in our strategic planning process.  The purpose of the meeting is to develop closer ties to the communities by getting you help to formulate our mission and vision statement.  Please join us on April 17 at the Community Room at the Delano United Methodist Church from 11:00am-5:00pm.  The event is free and open to community royalty/ambassador program coordinators and current ambassaors.  Please RSVP to Jennifer Evers by Thursday, April 15 at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
