2017 Crew Announcement: Dan Stoltz Selected as 2017 Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore

The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization is excited to announce that Dan Stoltz, SPIRE Credit Union CEO and St. Paul Winter Carnival King Boreas the 79th., will be the 2017 Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore.

Dan is honored and humbled to be selected. Deeply committed to giving back, he talks frequently that life is about giving--not taking. Dan’s Aquatennial Commodore Medal will feature three letters - TTT - standing for Time, Talent and Treasures. He believes strongly that everyone should give back in all three areas to enrich their communities and the lives of others.

As Commodore, Stoltz looks forward to going into the many communities that support the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization and thanking key people who give their Time, Talent and Treasures to others.

Dan is absolutely thrilled to serve back-to-back as King Boreas and Aquatennial Commodore in these important leadership roles for the Twin Cities. Each festival, with their rich traditions, complements the other and they are both stronger working together as they are distinctively different. Dan eagerly looks forward to making a "splash" with the 2017 Aquatennial Captains, Queen of the Lakes, and Princesses over the next year!

The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization hosts a number of events during the Aquatennial Festival including the Commodore's Dinner where Dan and the Aquatennial Captains will be formally announced.

The Minneapolis Downtown Council produces the Aquatennial Festival with several events starting with the CenterPoint Energy Torchlight parade on Wednesday, July 20.
