Introducing the 2019 Aquatennial Ambassadors


The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) held the Aquatennial Ambassador Coronation presented by SPIRE Credit Union at Ted Mann Concert Hall on Saturday, July 21. At the end of the coronation, the 2019 Queen of the Lakes and Aquatennial Princesses were announced.


Queen of the Lakes Haley Rogers


Haley is from the community of Albertville. Haley is a 2018 graduate from St. Michael-Albertville High School, and is now a studying mathematics with a concentration in secondary education at St. Olaf College. Haley believes in finding a calling rather than a career, and has a desire to positively influence the lives of young people. Haley's favorite school activities included anything related to student government and leadership and the fine arts, including theater, and the five choir groups in which she participated!

Aquatennial Princess Mandy Rochel


Mandy is from the community of Chisago Lakes. Mandy is a 2018 graduate of Chisago Lakes High School, and is now a student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Mandy will be studying nutritional science and biological systems engineering. Mandy hopes to work to innovate technology for the medical field, specifically in nutrition-based medical adaptations. Mandy is a runner, writes poetry, and makes maple syrup with her family every spring.

Aquatennial Princess Courtney Engholm


Courtney is from Sleepy Eye, and graduated from Sleepy Eye Senior High School in 2017. Courtney is a student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities studying child psychology. She hopes to find a career that combines her interests of child development, language acquisition and cultural studies. Courtney is involved in a campus ministry and the Child Psychology Student Organization. She likes to find an outdoor study spot on campus in the warmer months, and a cozy spot at a campus cafe in the winter months.

Aquatennial Commodore and Captains

Commodore Ann Bailey and Captains Marjorie Weinhagen and Jackie Paul will be escorting and mentoring these young women throughout the year. Learn more about our first all-female Ambassador team.

The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) is a Minnesota nonprofit Section 501(c)(3) public charity with a Mission is to inspire young women to achieve extraordinary futures by providing professional development opportunities through networking and mentoring.

The Aquatennial Ambassador Crew represent the Minneapolis Aquatennial at nearly 300 community festivals and events throughout North America each year and consists of the Queen of the Lakes, Commodore, two Aquatennial Princesses and two Captains who volunteer their time and efforts for the AAO.
