AAO Exhibit at Anoka County Library

Anoka County -- The Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization (AAO) has a display at the Anoka County Library, Northtown Branch. Ken Hafften, AAO Historian, and Cindy Shanley, avid AAO volunteer, created the feature piece. Hafften originally reached out to the Northtown library about a year ago, and they expressed interest about two months ago. Hafften and Shanley used items from the Hennepin Historical Museum and from Hafften's personal collection.

The exhibit has different features related to the Minneapolis Aquatennial: Ambassadors, Parades, Milk Carton Races, Fireworks, and Celebrities.

Tuesday, July 9, at 6PM, there will be a grand opening/unveiling of the exhibit, with Commodore Ann Bailey, Queen of the Lakes Haley Rogers, Captain Marjorie Weinhagen, and Princess Courtney Engholm in attendance. The exhibit will be on display until the end of July. The library is located at 711 County Road 10, Blaine, Minn.
